The Music of Downton Abbey - Talk

Join us at Wiltshire Rural Music for a guided talk on the music of Downton Abbey, by Alastair King. 

Alastair’s work is known world-wide having been part of the music department for such high profile productions as Doctor Who, Grantchester, Harry Potter and, of course, Downton Abbey.  In this one hour presentation he will given an insight into composer John Lunn's score which was both orchestrated and conducted by Alastair himself. The audience will learn how the music for the series was produced using live musical examples performed by Alastair on the piano and Claire King on clarinet in addition to famous moments from Downton Abbey projected onto the screen. A fascinating peek behind the scenes of one of Britain's most iconic period dramas.
