Hear our Song!

An interactive songwriting project with young people across the county in partnership with Voices for Life Children’s Choir.

Performances to be held at Wiltshire Music Centre on 22 and 24 November 2023.

Voices For Life are a children’s singing project that run workshops in schools throughout Bath and Wiltshire. After a series of in-school workshops, the participating children get to perform the bespoke piece, (this year “Extraordinary!” written by Jools Scott and Sue Curtis) in front of a live audience and accompanied by an orchestra! As you can imagine this is an incredibly exciting opportunity for those involved, and this year, Wiltshire Rural Music have been asked to provide some extra entertainment for the evening. Hear our Song follows the same formula as Voices for Life, but rather than teaching the children an original song, they team up with a songwriter and compose their own!

We have three participating groups - two year groups from Christchurch School in Bradford on Avon, and one crew consisting of Home Educated children in the area! Over the course of three workshop sessions the groups will write their own anthem ready to perform to the audience at WMC in November, complete with a small band accompanying them! Roll over Lloyd Webber, the next generation of composers are hiding somewhere in Wiltshire! Click below for tickets to the performances on 22 and 24 November at Wiltshire Music Centre.
