Tune at Noon - Lorna Davies & David Knowles

Acclaimed cellist Lorna Davis returns to WRM to perform alongside piano accompanist David Knowles.

Wiltshire cellist Lorna Davis began playing at the age of seven under the tutelage of Christopher LeBon and enjoyed playing with Wiltshire Young Musicians. Having won the Liz Lawrence Award at WRM, she gained her BMus at The University of Manchester and MA (distinction) in cello performance at The Royal Academy of Music. A student on the string leadership scheme with the Royal Northern College of Music, she won The Charles Hallé Award. Lorna has performed extensively as part of The Hallé, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Liverpool Philharmonic. She is a passionate performer, enjoying a versatile career as soloist, chamber, orchestral and community musician and teacher. Her programme will include works of two 19th Century composers – Rebecca Clark, little known, who became one of the first female professional orchestral players and Max Bruch’s famous Kol Nidrei.

Lorna will be accompanied on the piano by David Knowles.
