We were delighted to welcome back four of Wiltshire's finest young musicians for a special evening of live music at Corsham's Pound Arts. The four former Liz Lawrence Award winners entertained an audience with a wonderful program of classical music.
Lorna Davis, who won the big award from Wiltshire Rural Music in 2007, began the evening with an enchanting cello performance.
Lorna was followed on stage by 2017 winner Katherine Stonham, who was accompanied by sister Rachel on piano. Such a fabulous performance and a fascinating insight into current studies of Mozart's work.
After a brief interval, the audience were treated to the incredible vocals of mezzo soprano Cassie Dalby. A simply stunning performance and wonderful explanation of what defines a mezzo soprano, as in her own words, Cassie performed "I'm a sexy lady!"
Finishing off the evening was cellist Daniel Springate, whose program showcased a wide variety of styles on the cello. An absolute highlight for everyone were the cello duets that Daniel played with Lorna Davis to complete the evening.
The evening was titled Symphony the Best, and it certainly was better than all the rest.
