Toby has been playing the violin from the age of four when he was a founder member of Liz Anderson's Super Strings' club. He then started playing the piano at the age of six where he first began his more contemporary journey of jazz and composition. Toby is studied at the RWCMD under the tuition of Marius Bedeschi.
Before gaining his place at college he was a member of the South West Music School for three years, studying with Richard Ireland. This gave him a great deal of experience in the music industry through working with people such as the Schubert Ensemble, Keith Tippett, Duncan Riddle and playing in rehearsals with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
Toby has also had the chance to compose and record some of his own works in Peter Gabriel's studio, Real World.
Toby is a very versatile musician and enjoys not only performing a great deal of solo and ensemble classical repertoire, but also a wide range of contemporary music from all genres.
